These lifts also typicially require a wider than average garage. It’s not just the additional height – it’s also the extra few feet of width these lifts need to operate. Again, if you’ve got an oversized garage – or you don’t mind losing a parking space – no problem.
These lifts often require special electrical wiring and may require a new garage pad. Calling an electrician and pouring a new concrete floor can be required, depending on the lift you buy and your current garage specs. Typically, a commercial 2 post lift should be placed on a reinforced concrete pad that’s 4 inches thick. We'd say they are more forgiving than non-stretch fabrics since the sewn garments will shape with the body.
Knit fabric doesn't fray, which means that you don't have to finish seams, which you would do with woven fabrics. Neither does knit get wrinkly, as much as woven fabrics usually do. They do shrink when washing for the first time, so you'll want to pre-wash the fabric before cutting into it.
Knit fabrics can have different amounts of stretch. For example, generally ribbing has a lot of stretch, while jersey and interlock has less. But it depends on if and how much lycra is in the fabric. Find more info in our fabric guide (coming soon).

Smooth leather boots are easier and work better with this process. But it will work for rough leather boots too. Just be prepared for the leather to potentially darken.
This will take a little time.
You will need to be careful to get your entire boot! No one wants a missed not-waterproofed spot.
There are many options out there, from store-bought creams, waxed and even sprays. This DIY method is inexpensive and worked SUPER well, but is potentially a little more work than buying a store-bought cream. However, the waterproofing is holding up really well, so I think we will continue to use this method in the future.
