  • Since the game's release in March 2020, I've logged approximately 250 hours in it. The lion's share of those hours occurred between March and April 2020, which corresponded to the first two months following its release. Its meteoric rise to popularity last year, the sense of escapism it provided, and the seemingly endless gameplay loop at its heart have earned it the moniker "pandemicAnimal Crossing New Horizons NMT."Although it may appear that way to some, given the fact that the pandemic is still ongoing, it does not appear to be so to me and instead is permanently etched in my memory as the beginning of the lockdown period.
